Silver Pines beginner tips: what the game doesn’t tell you
- Save at every phone — there’s no autosave, and calls cost money. How saving works.
- Read every note. Almost every code is printed somewhere nearby; only the motel gate number is random. All codes.
- A red glow means a boss. Save and restock before walking through.
12 tips for your first night in Silver Pines
- Loot money everywhere. Cash registers, satchels, car trunks and duffle bags. Money pays for saves and vending machines (healing, Duct Tape, even keys like the Projector Room Key).
- Drink the coffee. Coffee pots permanently raise max stamina — and there’s an achievement for finding them all.
- Hip Bags add 2 inventory slots each. One guide counts nine in total; the first ones are in the Ferry Office and the Wing Oil gas station bathroom.
- Use Storage Containers. Long guns eat space. Safe rooms almost always have a box.
- Combine items. Spare Parts + Duct Tape = Repair Kit. Gasoline + Bottle = Molotov. Two Torn Polaroids = a Memento.
- Equip Mementos. They are perks. The Sea Polished Glass Shard, for example, cuts the stamina cost of swimming.
- Shoot bird wind chimes. Four Memento Vessel Shards unlock another Memento slot.
- Take photos. Your Camera stores clues (radio settings, paintings, symbols) so you don’t have to run back.
- Melee small fry, shoot bosses. Charged attacks handle insects; save bullets for bosses and big enemies.
- Unlock shortcuts. Most locked doors open from the other side — open them as you pass.
- Answer ringing phones. They advance the story and are a free moment to save.
- Keep the Locked Ring Box. The box from the diner restroom is needed for the best ending.

FAQ
Is Silver Pines hard?
Ammo and saves are limited, and Nightmare difficulty is noticeably tougher. Saving often, looting money and keeping your distance from bosses makes the normal game manageable.
How do I increase stamina in Silver Pines?
Brew and drink coffee at the coffee pots you find (Miner Diner kitchen, The Quiet Hour Cafe, Dana's Auto Repair, Union Apartments 1B, Town Hall, Parish Home and more). Each raises your max stamina.
